"I saw this girl at a party and my heart missed a beat. And I… I think I know her. And then I kindof think ‘I don’t know where I know her from, but I think maybe we had a thing, or something happened between us, or something…’. I had this memory. And then I’m trying to think what it is. And then I think maybe it’s at university that I’d met her. It was quite intangible, but I thought there was something there.
Anyway, I saw her again a little later, sort of scrutinising her from afar, and I think “Why do I know you?”. And then I worked it out that she was the girl from Peep Show who David Mitchell goes to see at university, who…he’s sitting on her bed, and he ultimately doesn’t pull, unfortunately. But he really fancies her. And I think I just had a memory which was not my memory, because of the way that Peep Show is shot."
